Surah Ad-Dukhan — Ayah 4 (44:4)

English translation (Saheeh International)

Therein [i.e., on that night] is made distinct¹ every precise matter -

1. - Or "is separated" or "apportioned," from what is inscribed in the Preserved Slate. The angels record and descend with whatever Allāh has decreed for the coming year.

Brief commentary

On this night every precise matter related to provisions, lifespans etc. are decided which Allah is to make happen that year.
