Surah Al-Anbya — Ayah 111 (21:111)

English translation (Saheeh International)

And I know not; perhaps it¹ is a trial for you and enjoyment for a time."

1. - The postponement of punishment.

Brief commentary

I do not know whether your respite from being punished is a test for you, or whether it is to lure you further into destruction, and to give you freedom until a time decreed in the Knowledge of Allah, so that you persist in your disbelief and error.
