Surah Al-Mu'minun — Ayah 67 (23:67)

English translation (Saheeh International)

In arrogance regarding it,¹ conversing by night, speaking evil.

1. - The revelation. Or "him," i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ).

Brief commentary

You did that displaying arrogance over the people, because you thought you were the people of the sanctuary while you were not; the true people of the sanctuary are the Mindful. You also talked ill of it by night and would not deem it sacred.
