Surah Al-Qalam — Ayah 28 (68:28)

English translation (Saheeh International)

The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allāh]?'"¹

1. - i.e., remember or mention Him by saying, "...if Allāh wills." An additional meaning is "praise" or "thank" Him for His bounty.

Brief commentary

The most virtuous among them said, “Did I not tell you when you made up your mind to prevent the poor from your crops: “Why do you not glorify Allah and repent to Him?””
