Surah Al-Qamar — Ayah 29 (54:29)

English translation (Saheeh International)

But they called their companion,¹ and he dared² and hamstrung [her].

1. i.e., the worst and most despicable among them.
2. Or "he took," referring to his sword or to the she-camel.

Brief commentary

They then called their companion to kill the she-camel and he took a sword and killed it, fulfilling the instruction of his people.
