Surah An-Naml — Ayah 21 (27:21)

English translation (Saheeh International)

I will surely punish him with a severe punishment or slaughter him unless he brings me clear authorization."¹

1. - i.e., a valid excuse.

Brief commentary

He said when its absence became clear to him: “I shall punish it severely, or I shall slaughter it as a punishment for being absent, unless it brings a clear proof to prove its excuse for absence”.
