Surah Ash-Sharh — Ayah 1 (94:1)

English translation (Saheeh International)

Did We not expand for you, [O Muḥammad], your breast?¹

1. - i.e., enlighten, assure and gladden your heart with guidance.

Brief commentary

Verily, Allah has opened up your heart for you and made receiving revelation beloved to you.
