Surah At-Tur — Ayah 44 (52:44)

English translation (Saheeh International)

And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling,¹ they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up."

1. - Marking the onset of Allāh's punishment, as they had requested.

Brief commentary

And if they see a piece of the sky falling, they will say: “This is a cloud which is piled up on each other as usual”. So they do not take heed or believe.
