Surah Maryam — Ayah 47 (19:47)

English translation (Saheeh International)

[Abraham] said, "Peace [i.e., safety] will be upon you.¹ I will ask forgiveness for you of my Lord. Indeed, He is ever gracious to me.

1. - Meaning "You are secure" or "I will not harm you."

Brief commentary

Abraham (peace be upon him) said to his father: “Greetings of peace to you from me. You will not face from me what you dislike. I shall seek forgiveness and guidance from my Lord for you. He is very kind to me.
