Surah Al-Hijr — Ayah 22 (15:22)

English translation (Saheeh International)

And We have sent the fertilizing winds¹ and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers.

1. - Causing precipitation in rainclouds or carrying pollen. Another meaning is "pregnant winds," i.e., those carrying rainclouds.

Brief commentary

I sent the winds to fertilise the cloud, and I sent rain down from the fertilised clouds and I nourished you from rain water. O people, you are not containers of this water on earth in springs and wells, rather Allah is the One Who contains the water in them.
