Surah Ash-Shu'ara — Ayah 19 (26:19)

English translation (Saheeh International)

And [then] you did your deed which you did,¹ and you were of the ungrateful."

1. - i.e., striking the Copt, who died as a result.

Brief commentary

You committed a serious deed when you killed the Copt in defence of a man of your people, and you are one of those who deny my favours to you.
